Hair Night – Chapter Six
Robert stretched out on the couch, holding his phone above him as he filmed the latest round of hairstyling chaos unfolding on the rug. The girls had moved on from their “big hair” night and were now focused on perfecting sleek, high ponytails.
Amanda secured the last twist of her hair tie and gave her head a little shake. “Alright, ponytail squad, assemble!”
Courtney smirked, tugging her own ponytail tighter. “How’s that for uniformity?”
Rachel playfully flicked her freshly secured ponytail over her shoulder. “We look like we’re about to take over a high-fashion runway… or a cheerleading competition.”
Robert chuckled, still filming. “You three should have your own team name at this point.”
Amanda grinned. “How about the Ponytail Power Trio?”
Courtney scoffed. “That’s terrible.”
Rachel laughed. “Yeah, we need something way cooler.”
Robert set his phone down for a moment, stretching his arms behind his head. “You’ll think of something. Meanwhile, I’m just here for the show.”
Amanda suddenly smirked at Courtney and Rachel, exchanging a silent glance before turning back to Robert. “Oh, you’re ‘just here for the show,’ huh?”
Robert raised an eyebrow. “What?”
Courtney grinned. “You always watch from the couch. Maybe it’s time you get a closer experience.”
Before he could protest, Amanda grabbed his hand and pulled him forward. “Lie down,” she ordered playfully.
Robert hesitated. “Uh… what exactly are you planning?”
Rachel giggled. “Just trust us.”
Rolling his eyes but secretly amused, Robert lay back on the soft rug, arms folded behind his head. The girls gathered around him, their ponytails swishing as they moved into position.
Amanda leaned over first, letting the smooth strands of her golden ponytail sweep lightly across his shoulder. “See? It’s a tactile experience.”
Courtney followed, her nearly black-brown ponytail tracing lightly down his arm. “You appreciate hair so much, you might as well feel the styles we create.”
Rachel grinned and flipped her long, light-brown ponytail over, dragging it softly across his chest. “Consider it immersive.”
Robert huffed a laugh. “You three are ridiculous.”
Amanda grinned. “And yet, you love it.”
Courtney gave her ponytail a little extra flick. “Admit it. Best Hair Night yet?”
Robert smirked, closing his eyes briefly as Rachel swished her ponytail across his arm. “Okay, fine. I’ll give you that.”
Amanda sat back, satisfied. “Told you.”
Rachel laughed. “Alright, I think we need a new rule for Hair Night.”
Courtney raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”
Rachel grinned. “Next time, Robert has to participate more.”
Amanda nodded. “Oh yeah. Maybe we let him try to do the styles.”
Robert groaned. “Oh no.”
Courtney smirked. “Oh yes.”
As the teasing continued, Robert knew one thing for certain—these girls weren’t going to let him just sit back and watch forever.
And honestly? He didn’t mind one bit.
