Hair Night – Chapter Three

The warm glow of the apartment lights reflected off the sleek surface of Robert’s phone as he adjusted the angle, capturing the scene before him. Amanda and Rachel sat close together on the plush rug, their backs straight, their impossibly long hair cascading down like rivers of silk. Courtney knelt behind them, her fingers expertly weaving their strands together into a thick, intricate braid that intertwined Amanda’s golden blonde with Rachel’s rich, lighter brown.

Robert leaned forward slightly from his spot on the leather couch, zooming in to capture the detail of the braid forming. The contrast of colors was mesmerizing—the way the strands twisted and folded into each other, creating a seamless blend. He snapped a few photos, then switched to video, getting close-ups of Courtney’s hands working skillfully, her nearly black-brown hair swaying slightly as she concentrated.

“Hold still,” Courtney murmured, tightening the plait near the base. “This is coming out so good.”

Amanda tilted her head slightly, watching Robert over her shoulder. “You better be getting our best angles.”

Robert smirked, adjusting the shot. “Oh, don’t worry. This is art.”

Rachel giggled. “I feel like we’re in one of those fancy hair commercials.”

Courtney gave the final tie a secure tug and sat back, admiring her work. “Alright, done. What do we think?”

Amanda and Rachel turned to look at each other, their expressions lighting up as they admired the beautifully interwoven braid.

“Whoa,” Amanda breathed. “That looks amazing.”

Rachel reached up to touch the plait, feeling the thickness of their combined hair. “This is the best one yet.”

Robert lowered his phone and let out an approving hum. “Yeah, that’s gotta be the best hair fusion I’ve seen.”

Courtney grinned. “Alright, moment of truth—let’s see it loose.”

Robert leaned forward, slipping off the couch and onto the rug with them. “Here, let me.”

He reached for the tie at the end of the braid and slowly began unraveling it, carefully combing his fingers through the intertwined strands, loosening the sections one by one. The soft texture of their hair glided through his fingers as the braid came undone, returning to a flowing cascade.

Courtney, now holding his phone, smirked as she aimed it at him. “Ohhh, now this is a moment worth capturing.”

Robert chuckled as he raked his fingers through Amanda and Rachel’s hair, fluffing it out fully. “Gotta make sure it’s completely loose.”

Amanda stretched her arms with a satisfied sigh. “Mmm, that felt nice.”

Rachel laughed softly, flipping her hair back. “I swear, I feel like royalty right now.”

Courtney nudged Robert with her foot. “You’re gonna have to step up your game next time. Maybe you should do the braiding.”

Robert scoffed. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. I’m still in the brushing phase.”

Amanda grinned. “Don’t worry, we’ll train you.”

Robert smirked, running his hand through his own nonexistent hair. “Yeah, because I’m so experienced in this field.”

Courtney laughed, tossing his phone back to him. “Well, at least we know you appreciate a good hair night.”

The night continued with more styling, more playful teasing, and more quiet admiration of the beauty in front of him. It was simple, effortless, and, to Robert, absolutely perfect.
